1-Protection is a security company authorised by the Belgian Federal Public Service Home Affairs, based in Wemmel on the edge of Brussels. We provide static guarding, access control and close protection to companies, institutions and diplomatic missions across the Brussels-Capital Region.
Our security services in Brussels
Static guarding and access control
Security officers on site, entrance screening, management of visitors and deliveries, verification rounds and written incident reports. Every arrangement is sized after a site visit.
Close protection
Armed and unarmed bodyguards for executives, diplomats and individuals under threat. See armed bodyguards in Belgium.
Event security
Conferences, official receptions, concerts and corporate events: access control, crowd flow management and public supervision.
Why the licence matters
In Belgium, guarding activities may only be carried out by companies authorised by the Federal Public Service Home Affairs, and every officer must hold a valid identification card. Engaging an unlicensed provider exposes the client as much as the provider.
Before committing, always ask for the company’s authorisation number and its public liability insurance certificate. Our authorisations and insurance details are published and verifiable.
How we work
- Initial discussion — the site or person to be protected, the level of risk, the schedule.
- Site visit and analysis — access points, sensitive areas, existing measures.
- Proposed arrangement — number of officers, hours, written instructions, escalation procedure.
- Deployment — briefing and start of the assignment.
- Follow-up — reporting and adjustment over time.
Areas covered
All 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, plus Flemish and Walloon Brabant. We also operate throughout Belgium and, for close protection, across Europe.
Frequently asked questions

Can you provide permanent cover?
Yes, including nights, weekends and public holidays, with officers working in rotation.
Do you work with embassies?
Yes. We work with diplomatic missions and international organisations based in Brussels.
Do you operate at short notice?
Urgent requests are assessed case by case, depending on officer availability and the time needed to scope the assignment properly.
