Armed Bodyguards in Belgium

1-Protection is a Belgian close protection and security company, authorised by the Belgian Federal Public Service Home Affairs (SPF Intérieur / FOD Binnenlandse Zaken). We provide armed and unarmed bodyguards to embassies, diplomatic missions, company executives and individuals facing an identified threat, throughout Belgium.

Armed protection: the legal framework in Belgium

Private security in Belgium is strictly regulated. Armed close protection assignments require an identified and specific risk, the appropriate authorisation held by the security company, and officers holding a valid identification card and the additional qualifications required by law.

Not every assignment allows for armed protection: each situation is assessed individually and must be authorised by the competent authorities. Our authorisations, insurance and compliance details are published and verifiable.

How an assignment works

1. Initial contact — we discuss the situation, the level of risk and the practical constraints, in confidence.
2. Threat and risk assessment — analysis of the person or site to be protected, routes, venues and exposure.
3. Protection plan — number of officers, rotation, vehicles, communication and escalation procedure.
4. Deployment — briefing, written instructions, start of the assignment.
5. Follow-up — reporting and adjustment of the arrangement as the situation evolves.

Secure transport

Where we operate

Across Belgium, with a strong presence in Brussels and the European institutions district. For protection of persons, we also cover assignments elsewhere in Europe and internationally, in coordination with local partners. In France, our officers hold CNAPS cards for close protection duties.

Discretion

Confidentiality is part of the assignment. Client identities, locations and arrangements are never disclosed, and our officers work in civilian dress unless a visible presence is specifically requested.
