Security Drivers and Armoured Vehicles in Belgium

Most incidents involving a protected person happen while they are moving, and usually at a point someone else could have predicted: the pavement outside a building, a car waiting in a known place, a route taken at the same time every day. Secure transport is about removing that predictability.

What a secure transport assignment includes

Route planning

Before any sensitive movement we establish a primary and an alternative route, identify the points where a vehicle is obliged to slow or stop, check access at the pick-up and drop-off points, and locate the nearest hospitals and police stations along the way.

The driver

Our drivers are licensed security officers holding a valid identification card, trained in defensive and evasive driving, and bound by the same confidentiality rules as the rest of our staff: no discussion of the client, no photographs, no sharing of routes or schedules.

The vehicle

Depending on the assessed risk, the movement is made in an unmarked vehicle, an executive vehicle, or an armoured one. The level of protection is decided with you, case by case, against the identified threat and the context of the journey — not sold as a package.

Working with the protection detail

Where the arrangement also includes close protection officers, the driver is part of the team rather than a separate service: he stays with the vehicle, keeps radio contact, keeps the engine available, and positions the car so that an immediate departure is possible. Armoured vehicles: being realistic

An armoured vehicle is heavier, handles differently and costs more to run. It is the right answer for a documented, specific threat, and the wrong answer as a default. We will tell you plainly when a well-planned journey in an unmarked car is the better protection.

Legal framework

Transport of persons under protection falls within regulated private security activity in Belgium. Our company holds an authorisation from the Federal Public Service Home Affairs, and armed accompaniment is possible only where the risk justifies it and the required authorisations are in place. Our authorisations and insurance are published and verifiable. For journeys outside Belgium, the rules of the destination country apply and are arranged in advance with local partners.

Is an armoured vehicle always necessary?

No, and we will say so. It is the right answer to a documented, specific threat. For most clients, a planned route in an unmarked car provides better protection at lower cost.

Are your drivers also security officers?

Can you collect a client at Brussels Airport?

Can the same driver be assigned each time?

Wherever the schedule allows. Continuity matters: a driver who already knows the client’s routine and preferences is part of the protection, not just transport.
